# Convert a won deal

> Turn a won deal into the client and the project in one step.

When a deal is won, you convert it. One step creates what you need to start working.

## Convert

1. Open the won deal and click **Convert**.
2. Check the company: the deal's company becomes the client. If the deal already belongs to a company in Contacts, no new company is created.
3. Confirm. The app creates the project and links it to the client.

What carries over:

- the deal's value becomes the project **Budget**,
- comments and attachments move to the project,
- the project takes the deal's currency,
- the deal is marked **Converted** and keeps its history.

After converting, **Open new project →** takes you straight there. Set the [billing type](/help/projects/create-a-project/) and the rate, and the project is ready for time entries.
